Based on a dual membership agreement shared by the Ohio county medical societies and the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA), Academy members (excluding Non-Resident and Associate categories) must also join and maintain membership in the OSMA. All classes of membership shall be obliged to abide by The Academy of Medicine of Cincinnati Articles of Incorporation and Code of Regulations. Membership Categories

New Active
Any physician who has a current MD/DO license to practice issued by the Ohio State Medical Board, who is a bona fide resident or conducts the majority of his/her practice in Hamilton County, Ohio. A new active member may not have had a previous active membership history with either the Academy of Medicine or the OSMA.

Previous Academy of Medicine Active
Any physician who has a current MD/DO license to practice issued by the Ohio State Medical Board, who is a bona fide resident or conducts the majority of his/her practice in Hamilton County, Ohio, and who has had previous active membership in the Academy of Medicine of Cincinnati.

Previous OSMA Active
Any physician who has a current MD/DO license to practice issued by the Ohio State Medical Board, who is a bona fide resident or conducts the majority of his/her practice in Hamilton County, Ohio and who has had previous active membership with the OSMA in another Ohio county.

Part-Time
Any physician who has a current MD/DO license to practice issued by the Ohio State Medical Board and is practicing less than 20 hours per week.

Non-Resident
Any physician who is not eligible for active membership and is an active member of the county medical society where he/she resides or conducts the major portion of his/her practice. A physician practicing primarily outside of Hamilton County, Ohio, but within the state of Ohio must secure OSMA membership through his/her local county medical society. Physicians practicing outside of Ohio are not required to join the OSMA.

Associate
Allied health practitioners or any person pursuing or interested in health care and the work of the Academy of Medicine of Cincinnati.

Resident
Any physician who has a current license issued by the Ohio State Medical Board and is enrolled in an approved medical post-graduate training program.

Student
Any person who is enrolled in an approved college of medicine pursuing the degree of MD/DO. Students are not required, however, they are encouraged, to join the OSMA.

Cost of Membership

Annual dues are based on a calendar year (January 1 through December 31). Prorated dues are available to applicants joining after July 1. After Octover 1, applicants paying full annual dues will receive up to 15 months of membership for the price of 12 months. MasterCard and Visa are accepted. Payment arrangments can be made by contacting the Membership Department at (513) 421-7010.
