Trailblazer, Mentor, Changemaker: Dr. Crawford Honored
Join us May 20th as we celebrate Alvin Crawford, MD, recipient of the Rising Through Collaboration Award, at the 168th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Medicine of Cincinnati.
A trailblazer in pediatric orthopaedics and a lifelong advocate for equity in medicine, Dr. Crawford’s impact reaches far beyond the operating room. As the founding director of the Crawford Spine Center at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, he pioneered innovative treatments for scoliosis and spinal deformities, setting a new standard for care nationwide.
Dr. Crawford has also devoted his career to advancing diversity in medical education and creating pathways for underrepresented students in medicine. His collaborative leadership has shaped not only surgical excellence, but also a more inclusive and empowered future for the profession.
